June 2010

The next six weeks are generally a positive time to move forward with plans, engage in negotiations, set up projects, sign contracts, move, travel and make purchases you may be contemplating.  By the third week of July 2010 forward into August, I think we are going to witness and experience some significant problems in the world.   Therefore, June is a much better month for beginning important projects and going forward with plans.  June is also a time to prepare.

This will likely be a rough summer on many fronts, including an unusually high number of hurricanes and devastating electrical storms, higher than normal temperatures, the increased possibility of terrorist acts leading to all out short-term wars/conflicts around the world, and the heightened possibility of a serious health epidemic involving infection and food-borne illness.  A bioterrorist threat  (e.g. anthrax) might be involved. Unfortunately, this might be aimed at the United States, with President Obama and the overall U.S. government as key targets.  It stands to reason, if late July and August are going to be problematic, that will undoubtedly influence the world financial markets, etc.  (This is one of those rare moments; I hope my predictions are blatantly wrong.)  You may wish to plan accordingly.  The exact astrological aspects and configurations involved will be discussed in the July outlook.

In contrast, June gets off to a nice fresh start with Mars gaining some strength having moved direct into the friendly sign of Leo.  Finally, Mars is moving ahead and at this point remains unopposed.  This is a good month for sports, athletics, being courageous and trying some new activities or new technology, making mechanical repairs or improvements to the home and equipment.  Remember the sunscreen, as transiting Mars in a fixed fire sign during the summer months can be brutal.  A strong Mars is great for engaging in all sorts of activities, exercise and movement.

However, Mars can also be prone to over-doing it, rashness, impulsiveness and in Leo, creates a grandiose, self-centered and self-confident variant of Mars’ expression.  (Think of a planet having various phenotypes (forms of expression) as the planet traverses different zodiac signs and nakshatras.)  With self-awareness, this is not necessarily dangerous, but worthy of consideration.  Mars moving through Magha for the first half of June puts him on a thrown, expecting to be worshipped as king, so he is easily offended if not respected regally.  Mars in Magha also possesses the shakti (energy) to “leave the body” if conditions lead in that direction.  Then as of 6/20, Mars enters Purva Phalguni and remains there through the remainder of the month. This creates a more passionate, expressive, dramatic, influential, relationship-focused expression of Mars and can promote wealth and prosperity in marriage or via partnerships, if conditions are ripe.  It’s no surprise that so many famous actors and actresses have focal planets in Purva Phalguni.

Jupiter remains quite strong and is throwing a helpful aspect onto Saturn.  This strong Jupiter should (at least temporarily) help the real estate and financial markets grow and improve over the next six weeks.  This is also a good time to sell property or assets if you are attempting to do so.  Some delay or frustration might be expected in this area due to the harsh aspects from Saturn and Mars (on Jupiter).  So, the normally generous, cheery and optimistic effects from Jupiter will likely be subdued this time around.  These aspects also upset the waters.  Expect storms, fires, piracy and problems at sea.

Venus enters the water sign of Cancer on 6/9 and receives a favorable exact aspect from Jupiter on 6/15, while conjunct with the waxing Moon.  This is a nice, sweet favorable aspect and bodes well for interpersonal relationships, communications, financial dealings, purchases, making new starts and social interactions.

Meanwhile, Mercury continues direct through Taurus and enters a stronger sign of Gemini on 6/22, enhancing all forms of communications.  Finally, a lunar eclipse occurs on 6/26 with the full Moon at approximately 11 degrees sidereal Sagittarius, close enough to the calculated U.S. chart Ascendant of 8 degrees.   Fortunately, this is a Saturday, so the financial markets won’t ride the roller coaster that day.  However, it’s a better day to take it slow and not make any major decisions.  Offers that may come to you that day should be rejected outright. World events taking place around this lunar eclipse will likely yield some clues as to what can be expected over the next few months.  So, it’s wise to monitor the news.

In sum, June 2010 is a good month for starting projects, making technological improvements, repairs, negotiations, purchases and other out-going adventures.  Preparation for a wild series of events this summer would be wise “while the seas are relatively calm.”
