FEBRUARY 2010 OUTLOOK:
This month
the momentum shifts to Aquarius, as Venus, the Sun and Jupiter will transit
there. By the end of February,
Mercury will join them. So, there
will be four planets transiting through Aquarius. Mars is throwing an 8th house aspect to Aquarius
from its debilitated sign of Cancer, aggravating these planets. This creates irritation,
argumentativeness, tension, impulsiveness, discord, protests and general
restlessness.
Planets
transiting through Aquarius generally bring some unexpected or unusual
events. So, this should be an
interesting month. First, Jupiter
is already transiting through Aquarius and gains some strength after one year
of transiting through its debilitated position. Individuals with planets in sidereal (Vedic chart) Aquarius
will generally feel more optimistic and expansive as a result of this
particular transit. The specific
area of good fortune will depend upon the exact house that Aquarius falls in,
for your particular chart, and which planets are there and the houses that they
rule.
Jupiter is
transiting through Shatabhisha nakshatra (for the entire month), whose shakti
(energy) is the “power of healing.”
Therefore, Jupiter’s transit here, will generally promote resolving
medical problems. However, Jupiter is also receiving the aspect of malefic,
debilitated, retrograde Mars, which may create some frustration and delay in the
healing process. If you are
planning to receive treatment for medical problems this month, it is wise to be
patient and re-evaluate the treatment plan before jumping into it. Double check that you are receiving the
correct medication or prescription, if applicable. Shatabhisha is defined as “100 physicians/healers,”
which implies that there may be a need to visit with several doctors to resolve
a problem. You may find yourself
seeking a second or third opinion to resolve a health problem, or simply going
back to the same doctor multiple times to get to the root cause of the problem.
On 2/6,
Venus enters Aquarius and on 2/12 the Sun enters Aquarius. Mars continues to retrograde for the
entire month in its debilitated position, throwing aspects to Mercury in
Capricorn, and to the Sun, Venus and Jupiter, respectively. Mars will throw an exact aspect to
Jupiter on 2/10, creating irritation, impatience, debates, protests and issues
in the area of education, involving teachers, children and/or religious
figures. Mars then throws an exact
aspect onto Mercury on 2/13, promoting impatient, rushed communications and an
increased tendency for arguments and debates. Mars will also throw an aspect onto the Moon that day,
stirring emotions and impulsive decision-making. It’s wise to be more cautious on 2/13 before making
commitments, major purchases or accepting offers due to the rash impulsiveness coming from Mars
on that day. Think before you speak and take a deep breath before you argue or
send an angry email.
The
overall tendency to debate, protest and argue will be strong this month,
particularly in political spheres.
Groups will tend to dig in their heels, take strong stands on various
issues and choose to debate, argue and protest this month. They’ll want their voices and opinions
to be heard, especially involving humanitarian concerns. It’s also a month where unconventional
relationships and the desire for more personal freedoms gain strength and
focus. Mars throws an exact
aspect onto Venus on 2/14, creating passion and desire, as well as
arguments. The Moon will be
closely conjunct to Venus on 2/14 and also receive the Mars aspect. Some caution with communications is
advised, particularly if you’re feeling impatient, rushed or frustrated. Mars throws its exact aspect to the Sun
on 2/20, creating some excessive heat.
There may be an increased tendency for fires to break out or for
accidents in the kitchen, involving burns. Flooding and excessive rains are more likely to occur this
month, particularly around 2/25 when the Moon and debilitated Mars conjunct in
Cancer, a water sign.
Finally,
on 2/25, Mercury moves into Aquarius to join with the Sun, Jupiter and
Venus. Four planets transiting
through one house creates an intense focus, sometimes causing too much energy
in one place. Too many planets will
be vying for attention in a tight space, simultaneously. Expect some unusual,
surprising events, which may be hard to predict, around the end of
February. It is possible
that there could be a sudden, unexpected passage of U.S. health care
legislation during late February.
